Took Beau in for his 2nd vet visit.  He now weighs 9.5 lbs, over twice his 4 lb weight of his first vet visit three weeks ago!  The receptionist asked if he was a Mastiff and today even the vet said he had Mastiff mix.  So...  Mastiff?  American Pit Bull mix?  Staffie?

When I was growing up, I was told "you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink".  I have found it true in raising children.  I can tell them and show them how to do; the choices to make to help them achieve their goals, but I cannot make them follow the course laid out and I cannot do it for them.

 

It is true of puppies and dogs and cats.  I can take them to the bowl filled with water but even when I push their snout into the water, they refuse to drink unless that is what they want to do.

 

Then, comes the time to push the little birdies out of the nest.  They seem to be falling, but then they flap their wings and become airborne!  Amazing!
